KIT Very small monster

Axiolab - KIT001

The time has finally come to please all those interested in this very particular project, whose "primary use" is to supplant the malsuonanti main channels in a 5.1 system and, possibly, the central one, creating a "lying" with the tweeter in the upper part . This triplet, well used in the use of the classic amplified subwoofer always present in these systems, will allow you incredible results. A "secondary use", but certainly not for the quality that can be obtained, is that of a main speaker in a small room, where an over-extended speaker at the bottom would only end up creating "acoustic slime" problems.

The W4- 655SA, a little monster with 4 grams of moving mass, you certainly wont find at every street corner; if you then consider the paper membrane, the very rigid basket, the ogive that guarantees excellent dispersion qualities, the extended response well over 15 kHz, the high mechanical "Q" that helps to minimize losses and the excursion from an esoteric wooferino. Moreover, in that volume there would have been two quietly and gaining 6 dB of useful dynamics does not displease anyone. The same speaker is used in our Trinity 2006 as a midrange. And the tweeter? Fortunately, TB produces 28mm "small monster" moving reels with really good performances.

With two midwoofers and a tweeter the "simil dAppolito" configuration was really a must and it will give us some advantages: 1) identical filtering for the two midwoofers, so only two routes and not three (simple, WHEN YOU CAN, it is better) 2) wide and symmetrical dispersion at the top and at the bottom, with the possibility of minimizing interference with the ceiling and the floor 3) given the proximity of the transducers and their excellent characteristics, the possibility of creating a point source and extremely acoustic phase linear (filter permitting) The chord is turned downwards for the usual space reasons, which would have made the control of a rear emission of low frequencies quite problematic.
