Thanks to numerous improvements, the new HELIX DSP PRO MK2 raises the bar to a new level, and not only in terms of sound quality.

In addition to the powerful 64-bit DSP Audio, the state-of-the-art DA and AD converters, the incredible 32-bit native resolution will ensure unparalleled audio features. The improved internal power supply and the increase in the maximum output voltage of 8 Volts contribute to improving the sound quality of this extraordinary processor.
Further innovations such as

• ADEP (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection) circuit in the high-level entrance to bypass the factory-built speaker diagnostic systems
• "Auto Remote" switch for activation / deactivation of the automatic high level input switching function
• A software-controlled switch has also been added between the optical and coaxial inputs.

Obviously, HELIX DSP PRO MK2 provides a HELIX Extension Card slot (HEC slot). This allows the addition of additional interfaces, such as the Bluetooth ® Audio Streaming module or the high resolution USB sound card.

Special Features

96 kHz sampling frequency

HELIX DSP PRO MK2 allows you to manage all signals with a doubled sampling frequency of 96 kHz. Therefore, the audio bandwidth is no longer limited to the usual values like 22 kHz, but allows a frequency response extended to over 40 kHz. By doubling the sampling frequency, a significantly higher DSP power is required since the number of possible arithmetic operations is halved. Only the implementation of the latest generation of DSP chips allows you to increase the sampling rate to 96 kHz and add new features and additional channels at the same time.

Signal converters with a native 32-bit resolution

HELIX DSP PRO MK2 uses the latest generation AD and DA converters with a native 32-bit resolution instead of the common 24 bit. The result is unprecedented accuracy in signal conversion that particularly optimizes sound quality at lower signal levels.

Smart Highlevel input

The latest generation of OE car radios incorporates sophisticated possibilities for diagnosing connected speakers. If a common signal processor is connected, error messages and loss of specific features (eg fader function) appear quite often - but not with the DSP PRO MK2. The new ADEP circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection) avoids all these problems without loading the OE radio speaker outputs in case of unnecessary high volumes.

Start-Stop functionality

The HELIX DSP PRO MK2 switched power supply ensures a constant internal power supply voltage even if the battery voltage drops to 6 Volts during the crank of the motor.

Energy saving mode

Energy saving mode is incorporated into the basic setting. It allows to significantly reduce the power consumption of the amplifiers connected to the HELIX DSP PRO MK2 once there is no input signal for more than 60 seconds. Note that in many cars updated with "CAN" or any other internal bus structure it can happen that the radio remains "invisibly" turned on for a maximum of 45 minutes. even after closing and leaving the car! Once "Power Save Mode" is active, the remote output and then the connected amplifiers will be turned off. HELIX DSP PRO MK2 will reactivate the remote output within one second if a musical signal is applied. The switch-off time can be changed by 60 sec. or completely deactivate the "Energy saving mode" via the DSP PC-Tool software.

Automatic digital signal detection

The transition from the analog input to one of the digital inputs is performed automatically as soon as a signal is detected on the optical input or on the coaxial input. This function can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software. Alternatively, an optional remote control can be used for manual switching between analogue and digital inputs.
