DataSheet HELIX P SIX DSP MK2

The HELIX P SIX DSP MK2 6-channel amplifier also incorporates an advanced 8-channel DSP with exceptional processing power. This fusion sets a completely new standard with its "Ultra HD Class D" amplification technology.

Thanks to the 96 kHz sampling rate and the wide audio bandwidth of over 40 kHz, this precision technological skill raises the bar in terms of sound quality.

If we put it aside for a moment, versatility is another important milestone to be reached during the development process. Therefore, we are pleased to present HEC. The HELEC Extension Card (HEC) slot provides to extend the possibilities of the devices in addition to the normal RCA sockets. Interfaces such as a Bluetooth ® audio streaming module or a high resolution USB sound card have been created to offer more options than ever.

Two fully elaborated RCA outputs connectivity connections to connect multiple amplifiers in series without the need for a second DSP.

The configuration of the internal 64-bit DSP could not be simpler thanks to the professional and intuitive PC-Tool DSP software that offers almost unlimited sound optimization capabilities.

Despite this impressive engineering feat, the P SIX DSP MK2 has not lost its HELIX design heritage; it still has a clean design while remaining very compact for easy installation.

Special features

Ultra HD Class D amplification technology with 96 kHz sampling frequency

HELIX P SIX DSP MK2 is the first class D amplifier with integrated DSP on the market that operates with a sampling frequency of 96 kHz. Therefore, the audio bandwidth is no longer limited to 22 kHz, but allows a frequency response extended to over 40 kHz. The highest sampling rate was only possible by implementing the latest DSP chipsets and amplifiers. The result: a class D amplifier with an unprecedented sound quality.

Ready for 24 V.

It is possible to use P SIX DSP MK2 with a supply voltage of 12 Volts or 24 Volts (for example, as usual in trucks) without the need to make changes to the unit. In both operating modes the amplifier will have characteristics of equal performance. This guarantees maximum flexibility for numerous applications.

High level intelligent input

The latest generation OE radios incorporate sophisticated diagnostic possibilities for the connected loudspeakers. If a normal amplifier is connected, the results are often error messages and the loss of specific functions (eg fader function), but not with P SIX DSP MK2. The new ADEP circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection) avoids all these problems without loading the OE radio speaker outputs in case of unnecessary high volumes.

Energy saving mode

Energy saving mode is incorporated into the basic settings. It allows to significantly reduce the power consumption of the P SIX DSP MK2 and the connected amplifiers when there is no input signal for more than 60 seconds. Note that in many cars updated with "CAN" or any other internal bus structure it can happen that the radio remains "invisibly" turned on for a maximum of 45 minutes. even after leaving the car! Once the "Energy Saving Mode" is activated, the remote output (Rem Out) and the internal stages of the amplifier will be deactivated. HELIX P SIX DSP MK2 will reactivate the remote output and the internal stages of the amplifier within one second if a musical signal is applied. The switch-off time can be changed by 60 sec. or completely deactivate the "Energy saving mode" via the DSP PC-Tool software.

Start-Stop functionality

The switching power supply of the HELIX P SIX DSP MK2 guarantees a constant internal supply voltage even if the battery voltage drops to 6 volts during the crank of the motor.

Automatic detection of digital signals

The transition from the analog input to the digital input is performed automatically as soon as a signal is detected on the optical input. This function can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software. Alternatively, an optional remote control can be used for manual switching between analogue and digital inputs.
