The impossible takes some time - from the first idea of 2011 to the beginning of sales at the end of 2018, the brand new BRAX DSP has gone through the longest and most intense development process in the history of Audiotec Fischer. Desperately awaited by many customers around the world, we proudly present the most advanced digital signal processor that, without any doubt, redefines both sound quality and functionality. It is not only the first DSP on the market that deserves to bring the famous BRAX logo, but also raises the standard of performance to an unparalleled level. Audiotec Fischer has spared no effort to bring every single detail of this technological masterpiece to extremes.

The "heart" is composed of no less than three (3!) Of the more advanced 64-bit Sigma350 series fixed-point audio DSPs with an incredible processing power of 3.6 billion MAC operations per second. This allows the entire system to be run on a native 192 kHz sampling rate, extending the audio frequency range to 80 kHz. Signal conversion is handled by Asahi Kasei best A / D and D / A converters with specifications beyond imagination. An enormous care has been taken to design the power supply, which is the essential basis for perfect sound quality. A series of fifty-five voltage regulators cleans and stabilizes all supply voltages for each individual stage separately. A new high-performance 32-bit CoProcessor (ACO) supervises every operation and ensures faster communication with the DSP PC-Tool software and the optional DIRECTOR remote control.

But in addition to all its technical merits, BRAX DSP marks the beginning of a new era also in terms of connectivity. Its unique modular concept allows you to configure the inputs and outputs as either analog, digital or a mix of it. It is hard to imagine that with this flexibility BRAX DSP will not be able to support any type of system configuration, either today or in the future. The "total work of art" is completed by a mechanical concept that gives the impression of immortality at first sight. Once again, the enormous expenditure - from the enormous heat sink in the typical linear BRAX design to the cinch jacks made from the solid - is visible to the smallest detail.

DSP Features

RealCenter
The "RealCenter" function is an algorithm, developed by Audiotec Fischer, which emphasizes the musical information present in the front left and right channel to create a single central signal. Unlike common procedures, in which only the channels are summarized, the intensity of the central signal is also dynamically controlled by the stereophonic information content of the left and right channel. It sounds complicated but this effect is surprising: this means that if only the left or right channel delivers an audio signal, the central channel will not reproduce a signal. In the case of common algorithms, the volume level of the central channel is reduced only by 6 dB (= half volume level). The "RealCenter" of Audiotec Fischer allows a unique and extensive sound staging, both for the driver and for the second driver at the same time! Therefore, the disadvantages of a conventional central channel, like a small intrusive sound stage, are things of the past.

Increased bass processing The processor
"Augmented Bass Processing" by Audiotec Fischer, consisting of the two revolutionary audio features "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander", has been specially developed to greatly improve bass reproduction of subwoofers. "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" ingeniously combines maximum deep bass and maximum sound pressure, regardless of musical style or tone controls in the main unit. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" gains the lowest frequency range and varies the cutoff frequency of the subsonic filter. The result is a significantly more powerful and deeper bass response at low and medium volume levels without the risk of overloading the subwoofer either mechanically or electrically at high volume levels. It is simply fascinating that bass performance is suddenly possible. If you want even lower and "darker" bass reproduction, you can activate "SubXpander" further. Therefore, subharmonic tones are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.

StageXpander
Depending on the arrangement of the speakers in the vehicle, it is possible to create a more or less wide stereo stage on the front seats. A center speaker can also limit the spatial reproduction of music. This is where the new "StageXpander" from Audiotec Fischer comes into play, a sound feature that seems to break the acoustic limitations and therefore allows you to create a wider stereo system without negatively affecting the accuracy of the location of voices or instruments! The effect can be adjusted according to personal preferences in four steps.

ClarityXpander
Are you looking for more transparency and substance in the reproduction of highs? With "ClarityXpander" Audiotec Fischer now offers the right tool. Properly adjusted (and therefore selectable in three steps), the function adds additional harmonics in the upper frequency range - this is particularly useful if the original speakers lack a certain brilliance in the acute response. The extra triple stock is not only available for the two front channels, but also separately for the central channel. Even better: the central channel allows automatic and dynamic control to be activated so that the music with high loads does not burden your hearing.
