In the late 1920s, at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), the first Norwegian electrodynamic loudspeaker drivers were designed. Ever since, Norwegian engineers have been leading the technology race in driver design. 

Seas drivers

From its founding in 1950 as a spin-off of the Norwegian radio manufacturers Radionette and Tandberg, SEAS has been dedicated to creating loudspeakers with superior sound reproduction. The company, whose name means Scandinavian Electro Acoustic Systems, has remained in the forefront of European driver manufacturers for more than 60 years. During this time, SEAS has evolved its products line - from a wide selection of standard drivers for radio and TV sets to the highly innovative customer influenced Hi-Fi drivers offered today.
We also have more than 10 years of experience with the AV-market, and have since 2011 worked to establish the SEAS brand as an independent actor and supplier of high quality loudspeakers for this exciting segment.
SEAS takes pride in the drivers it has tailored to meet specific customer demands and in the major role it plays in creating "The Breathtaking Sound Experience" of the contemporary Hi-Fi market. We are committed to offering products of the highest standard and the support services needed to meet the changing demands of the global market place.

At SEAS, we take pride in working according to the highest standard. We put a lot of effort into speaker design, using materials and techniques which give the best audible results even if this leads to time consuming and challenging production processes.

Many critical parts are produced in-house; some of them by special purpose machinery designed and built by ourselves. A by-product of this approach is that we are quite flexible in complying with the changing demands of our customers.

Many customers wish for a special version of a driver. This could be a different impedance. A different color of the diaphragm (for example we offer black aluminium cones). It could be glass fiber voice coil former for a higher mechanical Q (less mechanical damping). We look forward to take care of your request.

Quality is the key word in every aspect of our activity. We closely monitor the quality of the parts and materials which we purchase, and of the parts and operations made in-house. We use sophisticated equipment and highly trained and experienced personnel to check that our finished products meet their specifications. We also try to act towards our customers and suppliers in a way which contributes to the total quality of SEAS. All SEAS products are of course manufactured in compliance with the regulations in EU’s RoHS directive.
